Automatic Performance Testing Machine

Automated heat pipe and VC performance tester with LabView software, programmable power supply, ice water cooling (10-50°C), and 4-6 temperature measurement points.

Product Description

The Cooling-Thermal Automatic Performance Testing Machine is engineered for end-of-line quality testing of heat pipes and vapor chambers in high-volume production environments. With 6 test stations and a production capacity of 250 pieces per hour, it delivers fast, accurate thermal performance measurement — covering maximum test power up to 90W, test area up to 70 x 170mm, horizontal and vertical test angles, and 2D stackable test configurations.

The advanced model extends test power to 200W, supports 4 to 6 temperature measurement points, dual heat source configurations, single and dual heat sources, 2D and 3D tube compatibility, and integrates an ice water cooling system (10°C to 50°C) with LabView software control — providing full production-line thermal performance validation without requiring thermal conductive adhesive.

Where the Automatic Performance Tester Is Used?

The Cooling-Thermal Automatic Performance Testing Machine is the final quality gate in the heat pipe and vapor chamber production line — verifying that every finished unit meets its thermal performance specification before it leaves the factory. It is used by manufacturers who need reliable, high-speed thermal performance measurement integrated directly into their production process, not just in a separate laboratory environment.

It is widely deployed in the following production environments:

  • Heat pipe manufacturers — end-of-line thermal resistance testing for D5-D10 copper heat pipes used in CPU coolers, server heat sinks, laptop thermal modules, and industrial electronics cooling
  • Vapor chamber (VC) production facilities — performance testing of VC assemblies for AI server chips, high-power GPU cooling, and data center thermal management hardware
  • New energy & EV thermal management manufacturers — testing heat pipes and VCs used in battery pack cooling systems, power inverter modules, and on-board charger thermal management
  • Contract heat pipe manufacturers — high-throughput batch testing with 6 stations running simultaneously, supporting 250 pcs/hr output with sub-60-second test cycles
  • R&D and engineering teams — characterising heat pipe and VC performance across different operating angles, power levels, and temperature conditions using LabView-controlled test programs

If your production requires automated thermal performance testing of heat pipes or vapor chambers at production speed — with test results logged, compared against pass/fail thresholds, and traceable to individual units — this machine is built for your line.

Delivery, Installation & After-Sales Support

Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Before Shipment

Every performance testing machine undergoes a full Factory Acceptance Test at our Kunshan facility before dispatch. All parameters — station accuracy, power delivery stability, cooling system temperature control, LabView data acquisition, pass/fail logic, and throughput at rated capacity — are verified against your confirmed test specifications. You are welcome to attend in person or via live video.

On-Site Installation & Commissioning

Our engineers travel to your facility to install the machine, connect the ice water cooling circuit, configure the LabView test programs for your product specifications, and run a full production trial. We confirm that the tester is achieving the required throughput and measurement accuracy before handover.

LabView Test Program Setup & Operator Training

We configure the LabView software with your product test specifications — power levels, temperature thresholds, flow rates, pass/fail limits — and provide hands-on training for your operators and quality team. Full technical documentation is provided in English, including test program management, calibration procedures, and maintenance schedule.

Long-Term Calibration & Maintenance Support

Our dedicated 5-person maintenance team provides remote support and on-site visits for calibration, sensor replacement, cooling system servicing, and software updates. Periodic calibration is critical for thermal measurement accuracy — our team provides scheduled calibration support to keep your test data traceable and reliable over the equipment lifetime.

Export & Shipping

We handle full export documentation and support FOB, CIF, and DDP shipping terms. Our testing equipment has been shipped to Japan, South Korea, India, Turkey, Vietnam, and Taiwan. Our team is experienced in international logistics for precision measurement equipment, including packaging for transit protection and customs documentation.

Unit Loading across 6 Test Stations

Unit Loading across 6 Test Stations

Heat pipes or vapor chambers (diameter Ø5-Ø10mm, length up to 500mm) are loaded into the 6 test stations simultaneously. No thermal conductive adhesive is required — the test fixtures use direct contact clamping, eliminating the adhesive application and cure time that slows conventional lab-based testing. For 2D and 3D tube geometries, the fixtures are configured for the appropriate tube shape before the test run begins.

Test Parameter Setup via LabView

Test Parameter Setup via LabView

Test parameters are programmed via LabView software — including test power (up to 200W for the advanced model), target cooling water temperature (10°C to 50°C), flow rate (up to 2,000 CC), temperature measurement point assignments (4 to 6 points per unit), test duration, and pass/fail threshold values. Test programs can be saved and recalled for different product specifications, enabling fast changeover between heat pipe variants on the production line.

Thermal Performance Measurement

Thermal Performance Measurement

The programmable power supply delivers continuous, stable heat input to the heating end of the heat pipe or VC. The ice water cooling system maintains a controlled temperature at the cooling end. Temperature readings from all measurement points are captured continuously by the LabView data acquisition system. The machine calculates the thermal resistance (delta-T per watt) for each unit and compares it against the programmed pass/fail specification in real time.

Test Angle Verification (Optional)

Test Angle Verification (Optional)

For applications requiring multi-angle performance verification, the test rig can be set to horizontal or vertical orientation (inclinable on the advanced model) to simulate different installation positions. This is particularly important for heat pipes used in applications where the condenser end is above or below the evaporator — as gravity-assisted and gravity-against orientations produce significantly different thermal performance results.

Automatic Results Logging & Unit Sorting

Automatic Results Logging & Unit Sorting

Test results for all 6 stations are automatically logged to the LabView system. Each unit is assigned a pass or fail result based on its measured thermal resistance against the programmed specification. Failed units are flagged for rejection or rework. All test data can be stored for SPC analysis, batch traceability, and quality reporting.

The complete test cycle time is under 60 seconds per unit on the advanced model, supporting a throughput of 240-250 pcs/hr across the 6-station configuration — making it compatible with the output rates of upstream heat pipe production equipment without creating a bottleneck at the testing station.
